Man acquitted of attempted murder in family quarrel

In Court, 29-year old Christian Cardona from Siġġiewi was acquitted of an attempted murder charge and of possessing a firearm without a licence. The case occurred in 2013 in Siġġiewi when the accused was involved in a family quarrel that led to his sister’s husband slightly wounded in his hand. Magistrate Josette Demicoli said that evidence did not show the specific intention of Cardona to injure his sister and neither that the accused had slightly wounded her husband.

Dr Joe Giglio defended the accused.
