Man arrested after entering in store carrying a knife

A man is being held under custody after he entered with a knife in a Melita store in Naxxar at around 2.00pm.

Information gathered on site indicates that the man threatened the store’s workers with a knife, while ordering a cashier to hand over money. Police officers were immediately called on site and arrested the man.

No one was hurt in the case although three workers needed medical attention for shock on site.

The company said that following the attempted theft, the shop was closed for the necessary investigations by the Police.
