Man arrested for selling false documents

Following surveillance over several days, the Police have arrested a 32-year-old man from Somalia. From investigations it results that this person was allegedly selling fake passports and residence permits in order to assist other people to enter or leave Malta.

The man was arrested yesterday in a raid which the Immigration Police carried out at his residence in Marsascala. During this raid, the Police found various false documents in his possession, as well as original documents, however these turned out to be stolen.

The man is expected to be arraigned in Court tomorrow charged with human trafficking and facilitating illegal immigration, among other things.
