Man detained after being charged with throwing Somali into the sea at Mġarr harbour

A 21-year-old man from Xewkija was arrested after being brought to court accused of injuring another man ​in the vicinity of the ​Mġarr harbour.

The case took place on July 18, when the accused allegedly caused injuries to a 27-year-old Somali man by throwing him into the sea.

He was also charged with causing slight injuries, committing wilful harm to property and disturbing the peace.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and was detained. The Prosecution was led by Inspector Josef Gauci.
