UPDATED: Man found dead at St Peter’s Pool is identified as elderly Zejtun resident
A man was found dead in the vicinity of St. Peter’s Pool in Delimara yesterday afternoon. He was brought up on land and pronounced dead at the scene.
It seems that the man was already dead because he was seen floating on the water’s surface and it is thought his body may well have been dragged there by the currents.
The man has now been identified as a 68-year-old resident of Zejtun and was brought to shore by two people present who tried to give him CPR, but to no avail.
Members of the Red Cross and police were present on site. Magistrate Joe Mifsud has appointed a number of experts to assist in the inquiry.
