Man in danger of dying after being hit by vehicle

A Gambian national is in danger of dying after being knocked down by a van in Tal-Barrani this morning.

The accident occurred at about 6.45 a.m.

It results from first investigations that the man was hit by a van which fled the scene. Whilst a search was initiated for the vehicle involved in the accident, a 49-year-old Italian national went to Żejtun Police Station and reported that he had hit a person.

Duty Magistrate Josette Demicoli was notified and set up an inquiry, appointing a number of experts to assist.
