UPDATED: Man in danger of dying after fight in Tarxien in which plastic pipe was used

A 36-year-old man from Tarxien sustained serious injuries and is in danger of dying after he was involved in a fight which broke out between a number of people in Tarxien. The Police said that a plastic pipe was allegedly used in the fight.

The man was among three men who had to be admitted to hospital for treatment. A 42-year-old man from Qormi was certified to have sustained slight injuries while another man, aged 68, from Tarxien was uninjured.

TVM is informed that the argument broke out at round 4pm yesterday afternoon in Triq Kelinu Cachia, however the police were only informed by Mater Dei about the incident at 11.45pm.  Duty Magistrate Marsanne Farrugia has opened an inquiry about the case.
