Man in danger of dying – found covered in blood in Imsida apartment block

A 43-year-old Brazilian national who lives in Imsida is in danger of dying after being found covered in blood on the floor of a block of apartments in Imsida.

The Police authorities stated that at about 6.30 a.m. the Police at Imsida Police Station were informed by telephone their assistance was required in an apartment block in Triq tal-Ħriereb.

District Police officers went to the scene, assisted by officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit, and immediately found blood in the common areas of the apartment block, where they also found the victim with injuries to his head and face.

It results from first investigations that the man probably fell and hit his head against the door of one of the apartments.

An ambulance was summoned and transferred the man to Mater Dei Hospital, where he was certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

Duty Magistrate Marseann Farrugia was notified and set up an inquiry, appointing a number of experts to assist.

District Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
