Man placed under probation after admitting to grievously injuring another man

A man has pleaded guilty to grievously injuring another man during an argument, and placed him under probation for three years.

Alaxander William Staples was charged that on June 2019, at the Strand in Sliema, he injured another man without intending to kill him, as well as of breaching the public peace.

When handing down the sentence, the Course considered Staples’ early guilty plea and his clean conduct, the circumstances  of the case, as well as the fact that the victim kept procrastinating to provide evidence and to testify.

The Court was presided over by Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech, while the prosecution was led by Inspector Jonathan Ransley.
