Masked men steal €4,500 in San Gwann hold up

More than €4,500 in cash were stolen in a hold-up from  a lotto office at around 10.40pm last night in Naxxar Road, San Gwann.

From its investigations, the Police have established that the young woman in charge of the lotto office was held up by two masked men, allegedly armed, who walked in and demanded the money.  The thieves escaped with more than €4,500.

St Julian’s District police and police officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit carried out a search in the area, but it proved negative.

Duty Magistrate Dr Marsenne Farrugia appointed several experts to help her in her inquiry. The investigation continues.
