€252,000 to 12 NGOs with projects fighting world poverty
The Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr George Vella distributed the sum a total of €251,862.16 to 12 Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) that have projects in i in countries throughoutAfrica, Asia and SouthAmerica..
These projets are aimed at helping vulnerable people throughout the world.
In his speech to representatives of the organisations, Dr Vella acknowledged the important work contribution being carried outby these organisations in different communities throughout the world to help eliminate poverty.
Dr Vella said that Malta, currently holding the Presidency of the EU Council is working to achieve reach the new Agreement of consent regarding development, so as to conform to the 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development.. Agenda 2030 aims to eliminate poverty in all its aspects, including 17 targets for Sustainable Development aimed at strengthening communities at various levels.
