UPDATED: Another swimming challenge by Michelle Muscat in aid of Marigold Foundation
Posted On July 11, 2020 - Updated 11 July, 2020 6:45pm

There is more activity this Saturday than one normally sees at Pretty Bay in Birżebbuġa… from the morning live music accompanied a number of swimmers who joined Marigold Foundation chairperson Michelle Muscat in the Marigold Swimathon 2020 challenge.

Mrs Muscat was the first to jump in shortly after 9.00 a.m., with the support and enthusiasm of a number of volunteers – many of them patients with rare diseases and Special Olympics athletes.

“I do it for them, and please God, it will be successful. We’re hoping to raise the funds that are needed,” Mrs Muscat stated.

This is Mrs Muscat’s sixth challenge in the sea. This year, instead of undertaking a kilometres-long swim from one point to another, Mrs Muscat is spending ten hours in the sea in this bay. This year she is accompanied by others who joined her in the water after making a donation to the Marigold Foundation.

The foundation aims to serve as support for non-governmental organisations and associations, whilst collaborating with them to make their voice heard.
