Appeal by lawyer Chetcuti against an Inquiry into his alleged political connections in IIP rejected

In the Criminal Court, Judge Edwina Grima rejected a plea lodged by lawyer Jean Philippe Chetcuti that contested the decision by Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Sacco to initiate a Magisterial Inquiry after he boasted of political connections during the processing of the Citizenship with Investment programme.

The request for an Inquiry was made by Repubblika MT following the decision by authorities to suspend the legal firm from its role as an Agent for the IIP programme and the investigations carried out by the Regulator of the programme.
