“Migrants should have a right to vote” – Colin Calleja

The Founder of the Group Solidarity with Migrants, Colin Calleja, has expressed the view that immigrants should be given the right to vote in local elections.

‘I agree with it, because they are living the same realities we are living.’

On the other hand, the opinionist Dr Frank Portelli thinks otherwise.

‘To have the right to vote and decide the country’s future, you must live in Malta and obtain Maltese citizenship.’

The subject of illegal immigration will be treated in more detail in the program INSIGHTS which airs tonight at 10.30pm on Television Malta.
