Minister Bartolo says PN criticism on MCAST is unjust

Education Minister Evarist Bartolo said that the external assessment results, recently commissioned on the Maltese educational institutions including the University, MCAST and the Institute for Tourism Studies will be published.  He said that MCAST had achieved good results.

The Minister said that criticism made by the opposition spokesperson on education, George Pullicino on MCAST in Parliament was unjust.  He said that this was an attack on the integrity of MCAST.

Mr Bartolo said Architect Pullicino has a great lack of knowledge on what is happening at MCAST.  He recalled that since 2012 the college, under the previous administration, could accredit its courses till level 6.

MCAST has said that it has all the necessary structures to accredit courses till the Masters level, and will start courses in level 7 carefully and with attention.  Minister Bartolo said that various foreign universities are ready to work with MCAST in initiating various courses.
