Minister Evarist Bartolo on another visit to Libya

On Thursday, the Foreign Affairs and European Minister Evarist Bartolo will be visiting Libya for meetings with the Libyan Government.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry, it was stated that by 29 July of this year, the Libyan Coastguard had rescued 6,265 people from human trafficking in the Mediterranean Sea. Around half of these people would have drowned or ended up in Malta’s Search & Rescue Zone.

Among the other themes which will be discussed between the two sides is the stability of the region, as well as the areas of co-operation between the two countries.

The Ministry ended by saying that Malta will continue to do its part according to the cooperation agreement between the two countries.
