Minister Evarist Bartolo says he defused tension during meeting with Italian deputy PM

Minister Evarist Bartolo met in Luxembourg with Italian deputy Prime Minister, Luigi Di Maio, and discussed how the two countries can work together and share experiences in the labour sector and encourage more workers to enter into new jobs.

The two ministers also discussed how Malta and Italy may collaborate for the common good of both countries and to communicate together to face the challenges they face in the Mediterranean and in the southern part of Europe.

The meeeting in Luxembourg was held during the European Union Council of Labour Ministers meeting during which the European ministers agreed in general on the Work Life Balance directive and discussed plans on the European Semester.
