Moments of enthusiasm prevailed as crowd accompanied Prime Minister towards Castille

Apart from the live transmission on Television Malta and tvm.com.mt, a crowd followed the swearing in ceremony on a big screen mounted in St George’s Square in Valletta. Many well wishers waited in the square to meet with the Prime Minister on his way to Castille and to personally augur him.

After the swearing in ceremony, Dr Robert Abela walked from St George’s Square towards Castille accompanied by crowds of people who congratulated him for his new appointment. Moments of enthusiasm prevailed as the crowd of people walked with the new Prime Minister along Republic Street.

Dr Robert Abela was welcomed by another crowd who gathered outside the Auberge de Castille as the new Prime Minister entered for the first time in Castille.

Here, Dr Abela held his first meeting as Prime Minister with the Labour parliamentary group. During the meeting Prime Minister Abela stressed that the parliamentary group should now resume its work as there is much work ahead so that the country continues to move forward. It is understood that Dr Abela has already started working on announcing his cabinet members.
