Professor Gauci confirmed that statistically, many more males than females are infected with Covid-19 in Malta.
The Superintendent of Public Health was addressing today’s media conference, during which she announced that 14 new cases of coronavirus had been identified in Malta, all of which are local transmissions.
Eleven of these cases are men of various ages.
Professor Gauci stated that 656 swabs had been carried out in the past 24 hours, and a total of 227 positive cases have been identified so far.
All patients are in a good state of health, except for an elderly man who is in the ITU in a critical condition.
There are three persons in the ITU, four patients at Mater Dei, 20 patients in St Thomas Hospital. eight are being treated at Boffa Hospital and another patient is at Mount Carmel Hospital.
