More than 130 people have died in mudslides in Bangladesh

At least 133 people have lost their lives and tens of others have been injured in mudslides in Bangladesh following heavy rainpour throughout the  night on Tuesday. The largest number of deaths were reported in Rangamati where, so far, 98 corpses have been found buried in mud.

Among those injured were two army officials and two soldiers who were hurt when another mudslide occured while they were saving those trapped in the mud. The authorities said that 1000 homes have sustained extensive damages, and left thousands of people homeless. They also said that so far they have saved and evacuated around 2,300 people but they are still not sure how many are still missing.
