Nationalist leader on party’s proposals for Gozo

Opposition and Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech spoke on the party’s proposals for Gozo, launched in the past weeks, saying that they represent a few of many proposals being considered by the party.

Speaking during an activity at Independence Square in Għajnsielem, Dr Grech mentioned, among others, the connectivity between the islands, better internet connectivity and the creation of jobs in Gozo. He said that the Mġarr port served the needs of Gozitans in recent years, however it is now time to be enlarged.

Referring to the health sector, Dr Grech said that cancer patients should receive chimotherapy in Gozo and do not have to travel to Malta. He also said that Gozitan students should have the same opportunities as Maltese students, with salaries offered after their graduation should be equal. Gozo should be a centre of education that will be the envy of Europe, he added.

Regarding the environment in Gozo, he said that development is important, however the quality of life of citizens is also important.

Dr Grech stated that he wants to implement his vision for Gozo, telling Gozitans that they shouldn’t only work in government employment, but more jobs should be created even in the public sector. He said that injustices in the public sector will not resume under a Nationalist government, adding that the PN’s board of injustices will address every injustice made.

The Nationalist leader said that local councils were always important for the party because it believes in people and will provide them with more power because they are really aware of their localities’ needs.
