The British Government said it is in possession of a technological tool that recognizes material related to Islamic terrorism on the internet and blocks it.
Representatives of the UK government are meeting with American companies to discuss this technology, while it is not excluded that the Government will oblige companies providing internet service in the United Kingdom to use it.
The tool works by being fed with thousands of hours of material published by Islamic extremists on the internet and is forced to analyze it. In this way, it recognizes new similar material uploaded on the internet, and can block it before reaching the public.
The UK Government invested £600,000 in developing this tool by a company on artificial intelligence based in London. It is currently being estimated that the tool can block some 94% of material published by IS.
