New Zealand hit by strong earthquake – warnings of possible tsunami

A strong earthquake registering 7.3 on the Richter Scale hit New Zealand a short time ago, and the country’s authorities have warned the public not to venture near coastal areas because of the fear of a tsunami.

According to the GeoNet seismological Institute of New Zealand, the earthquake is classified as a strong one, and it is feared this can cause a tsunami from the quake’s epicentre.

According to various reports, the earthquake was also felt as far away as Scotland… on the other side of the world.
