Nine dead in attacks on three churches in Indonesia

Suicide attacks on three churches in the town of Surabaya in Indonesia have left at least nine persons dead and around 40 others wounded. The attacks were carried out simultaneously.

Although no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, the Indonesian security services believe that a group inspired by the Islamic State, calling itself the Jemaah Ansharut Daulah, is behind the attacks.

Indonesia, the country with the biggest majority of Muslim population, has again witnesses a surge in Islamic militant activities.
