Nine month jail term for young man who traveled with false documents

A 21-year-old Sudanese man has been sentenced to 9 months in prison after admitting to having false documents.

Maisere Holi Menne, who lives in St. Julian’s, admitted that on October 16, and in the days prior, he had in his possession false documents and made use of them.

Menne admitted to making false statements to immigration officials and of committing these crimes during the operative period of a a Court of Magistrate sentence.

The young man was brought before Magistrate Yana Micallef Stafrace and prosecuted by Inspector Christian Abela.
