Nine new cases of COVID-19 in Malta

Nine new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Malta on Thursday. The Health Ministry had earlier stated that 19 migrants had also tested positive for Covid-19.

This brings the total number of active cases in Malta up to 55, together with 85 migrants who have also tested positive.

The Health Ministry explained that four of the nine cases are linked to the St Venera feast, and the others are sporadic cases. All nine cases are aged under 35 years.

1,722 swab tests have been carried out over the past 24 hours, pushing the overall total up to 125,658.
