Number of deaths from Covid-19 worldwide reaches more than half a million

According to the John Hopkins website, the number of people who have died from Covid-19 around the world since the outbreak of the pandemic has now reached more than half a million people. The number of positive cases is more than 10 million while those who have recovered amount to more than 5.1 million.

In the US, the number of new Covid-19 cases has increased considerably. The governor of Texas said that the virus is spreading dangerously fast.

On the other hand, in the state of New York which at the beginning was one of the worst hit states, the situation is much better. Over the last few hours only five people have died from Covid-19.
