Number of persons infected with Covid-19 now more than 30 million – Johns Hopkins University

According to figures released by Johns Hopkins University in the US, the number of persons infected with Covid-19 is now more than 30 million, with 940,000 deaths.

Worst hit countries are the US, India and Brazil, but an increase in numbers of cases is also being reported in Europe.

Meanwhile, the British Government is expected to introduce more measures with the aim of controlling the pandemic, although schools and many workplaces are to remain open.

This after, according to a Government scientific consultant, the forecast for the UK is that the number of deaths will rise by the end of October. It is rumoured that the Government is expected to close down tourist establishments like hotels, and will limit bar and restaurant opening hours.
