Obama to visit Scotland for first time for charity event

The former US President Barack Obama will be making his first visit to Scotland next month. He will be addressing a fundraiser for various children’s charities, including his own charity, the Obama Foundation.

Tickets for a table of 10 people to attend the event in Edinburgh on 26 March will cost around £5,000. The event is being organized by Sir Tom Hunter, and The Hunter Foundation.

Sir Tom, who will be inviting other people to the fundraiser, said he is excited that Obama will be making the trip to attend.

“From the southside of Chicago to the White House was a fantastic journey and it will be a great honour for me to hear how he made it to the top, from the man himself. It is a great privilege to host the 44th President of the US for this event,” Sir Tom said.

This event takes place every year and in the past those attending included personalities such as George Clooney, Bill Clinton and Leonardo Di Caprio.
