19 immigrants test positive for COVID-19

19 out of the 33 immigrants who were brought into Malta yesterday have tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Health it was explained that the immigrants were immediately isolated and  given a swab test for Covid-19. It said that, as per normal procedure, the immigrants who arrive by sea are immediately put into quarantine and are tested.

The immigrants who tested positive will be kept in isolation at Ħal Far Initial Reception Centre, and the rest will remain in quarantine and will continue to be monitored.
