Over 40 persons died in Venezuelan prison revolt

Over 40 persons died during a revolt at the Los Llanos prison in Venezuela.

The revolt started in protest on the shortage of food and water at the prison, however the prison authorities said it all started when inmates tried to evade the facility.

Many wardens, including the prison chief, were injured during the revolt.

Similar revolts have occurred in corrective facilities since the pandemic emergence which brought various restrictions in prisons.
