Palestinians set fire to holy Jewish site

Palestinians have set fire to a holy Jewish site in the city of Nablus on the West Bank.

Amid the constantly growing tensions between Palestinians and Israelis, Palestinian rebels set fire to the the tomb of Joseph, who was Jacob’s son and the main figure in the biblical story known as ‘Joseph sold by his brothers’.

Palestinian security forces managed to put out the fire.

The incident took place a few hours after the Israeli PM called the Palestinian leadership to stop the wave of attacks against Israelis.

This is not the first time the tomb was the target of an attack as Palestinians had tried to set it on fire last year.

This month, there was a knife attack almost every day by Palestinans against Israelis, with the tension between the two sides escalating in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the border with Gaza.

Seven Israelis have been killed and many more injured while to date, 30 Palestinians, including various aggressors, have been killed in this last wave of violence.
