‘Parliamentary Group unanimously backs Prime Minister’ – Labour Party

The Labour Party declared in a statement that the Parliamentary Group had given its unanimous support to Prime Minister Joseph Muscat in all decisions he will be taking, following a free discussion during which all members expressed their opinion.

It was stated that “the Group reaffirmed its complete confidence in the Prime Minister.”

During the meeting in Girgenti, which lasted about four hours, the Parliamentary Group also agreed that Parliamentary sittings will be held next week during which the case of the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia will be discussed after a person has been formally arraigned in Court and charged with commissioning the crime.

The Group also thanked Helena Dalli, who has ended her Parliamentary mandate now that she has been appointed European Commissioner.

At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister announced that after the latest developments in the Court, Chris Cardona will return immediately to his Ministerial post and to Labour Party Deputy Leader.
