‘Pen” which can locate cancer in ten seconds

A technological apparatus in the form of a pen is said to be able to locate cancer within ten seconds.

Scientists from the University of Texas said that this equipment will make it easier and safer to identify a cancerous tumour.

It is being hoped that with this pen, doctors will be able to remove the cancer completely, and not leave part of it which will then be discovered after the patient has been operated on.

The tests which were carried out using this equipment, and which were published in the journal Science Translational Medicine, had a reported success rate of 96%.
