UPDATED: Man in hospital after falling from construction site in Mtarfa

A 55-year-old man suffered grievous injuries this morning after falling from a construction site in Mtarfa.

The Police told tvm.com.mt that the accident happened shortly after 7am in Triq ta’ Slampa.

From initial investigations it appears that the man is from Mtarfa and is the owner of the building under construction. He had gone to take a look at the ongoing works, when one of the stones in the balcony gave way and he fell around a height of one storey.

The Police, the Civil Protection and an ambulance from Mater Dei were on the scene.
