UPDATED (2): Man and two policemen hospitalised after fight with metal bars in Sliema

A fight with metal bars between three persons in Sliema has left a 43-year-old man from Mosta recovering under medical treatment at Mater Dei Hospital.

Police confirmed the fight took place at about 11 am this morning when an argument is alleged to have ensured over a stationery vehicle in the middle of Triq San Ġwann il-Battista.

It was stated that two Syrian men, one aged 28 and resident at Birkirkara and the other aged 23 resident at Ħamrun, parked in the middle of the road to unload and the driver from Mosta was stranded behind them.

The condition of the wounded man is not as yet known but two policemen from RIU were also consigned to hospital with light injuries.

Police investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
