Peru hit by powerful earthquake

Peru is in a state of shock following a powerful earthquake, measuring 8 on the Richter scale, which rocked various areas of the country.

The worst hit areas were Yurimaguas and Tarapoto.

The epicentre of the earthquake was measured at a depth of around 115km with the President of Peru Martin Vizcarra saying that there were various reports of casualties  and damages in the country.
