PN leader: no one should have to beg for cancer treatment

Nationalist Party leader, Bernard Grech, said no one should have to beg for cancer treatment. Dr Grech was visiting the Oncology hospital and also held a meeting with the Directors of Puttinu Cares.

Dr Grech said that like other countries Malta should have cancer medicines in its formulary, which does not exist so far.

He said that health was an absolute priority which is why an investment was made in the Oncology Hospital. He said that the Nationalist Party wants to continue investing so that every patient is given the necessary treatment. Dr Grech also said he admires the voluntary work done by non-governmental organizations such as Puttinu Cares. Dr Grech said that the Nationalist Party was proud of the work carried out in the field of health and promised all its support.

Dr Victor Calvagna said Puttinu Cares was very helpful to patients who travelled to England for medical treatment while announcing that they would soon have a centre in the heart of London.
