Video: Police seek man in connection with Msida shooting

The Police authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in their search for Ricardo Ortega Espana in connection with investigations about drug trafficking and a shooting in Triq Dijonisju Famucelli on 2 October.

The Police published a photograph of the man and stated that anyone with any information about this person is asked to contact the Police, even anonymously, through Messenger or on telephone numbers 2122 4001 or 119.

The shooting had taken place in mysterious circumstances in an area between Msida and Swatar. The Police had found a pool of blood in the common area of an apartment block in Triq Monsinjur Innoċenz Zammit corner with Triq Dijonisju Famucelli and had even found a spent cartridge, but at the time they had no knowledge of either the victim or the aggressor.

It had been suspected that the persons involved were foreign nationals. Persons at the scene had stated that shouting had been heard prior to the shooting, an indication that there had been an argument between some persons.

There had been an on-site presence of officers from the Rapid Intervention Unit and the Special Intervention Unit, as well as a medical team. Investigations are being carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department assisted by District officers.
