Prime Minister to contest next election in Second District

Prime Minister Robert Abela announced that he will contest in the Second District in the next general election.

He made the announcement on the national station’s Xarabank programme. The second district, which Dr Abela described as the heart of the Labour Party, consists of Vittoriosa, Cospicua Senglea, Ħaż-Żabbar, Kalkara, Xgħajra, and part of Fgura.

Replying to criticism by some individuals that there is no minister from the second district, he said that these constituents will have a Prime Minister who will contest in their district in the next election.
