Prince’s Trust programme offered for first time in Church school

St Michael’s School is the first Church secondary school which started offering the educational Prince’s Trust Achieve Programme since January this year.

This educational programme, which is accredited as an SEC subject and helps students not to drop their studies and leave school early, is being given in 18 State schools. Discussions are being held for the programme to be made available in more Church schools and also in independent schools.

The educational programme, which prepares students for MCAST and ITS, in financed by the HSBC Malta Foundation.

Minister Evarist Bartolo visited the school and followed students working on the educational programmes. In reference to Church schools, Minister Bartolo said that in 2012 Government was spending 45 million euro, and this has now gone up to 65 million euro, a 44% increase.
