In a protest organised by Repubblika and Occupy Justice in front of the Police Headquarters in Floriana last night, activists conveyed a message to the Police Commissioner Lawrence Cutajar to do his work and arrest Keith Schembri and interrogate Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.
The activists hung a large banner on the main gate on which was printed a copy of the letter which was allegedly written by middleman Melvin Theuma in which Keith Schembri and Yorgen Fenech were mentioned by name as being implicated in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Manuel Delia said that in this protest the Police gave a message to the authorities that there was no need for six rows of barricades as happened over the last few days in Valletta.
He accused the PM of not telling the truth when he said he had not spoke to Yorgen Fenech in a long time, He said that now it was known that the PM and and Yorgen Fenech used to communicate frequently. He referred to the message which the President of the Republic made to the nation calling for calm. Manuel Delia said that the activists are calm but angry because they want the rule of law and justice. He said that the ones who are not calm are those who are guilty of something.
The President of Repubblika, Vicky Ann Cremona, thanked the Police who were on duty and invited the Commissioner to follow their example and do their work, instead of disappearing into thin air. She criticised the Commissioner who has kept the public in the dark about information regarding the investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
She said that Repubblika is against violence and is not aligned with any political party, not even the Nationalist Party. She added that Joseph Muscat should leave Castille now and appealed to the Labour Party to control its supporters.
