Pubs and non-essential shops open in England and Wales

Residents in England and Wales took a breath of fresh air after lockdown measures were eased from last midnight. Some even waited outside pubs to open to have their first drink.

Pubs were the first establishments to provide an outside service to clients. Then, early today it was the turn of non-essential shops to open with many establishments experiencing long queues which sometimes lacked social distancing.

Gyms also opened from today, together with attractions such as the London Zoo, with parents maintaining that the latest lockdown was the most difficult for children.

In Wales, hundreds of customers took advantage of the easing of measures, while Scottish residents will have to wait another two weeks before they can enjoy life away from home.
