Putin says Russia has developed a vaccination against Coronavirus

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia has developed a new vaccine against Coronavirus and according to him has been approved according to regulations in less than two months after having been tested on humans.

Putin said this vaccination has passed all the necessary tests, so much, that this includes the vaccination given to his own daughter. Russian officials have planned to start giving the vaccinations throughout the country in October. However, experts are expressing doubts because of the rapid development of the vaccine.

In its reaction the World Health Organisation (WHO) has urged Russia to follow international guidelines on the development of a vaccine, as discussed with Russian Authorities. The vaccine has been named Sputnik-V. At this stage this vaccine has not been mentioned by WHO as one of the six types of proposed vaccines that have passed from the first three testing phases.
