UPDATED: Man dies while swimming at Comino

A 42-year-old man lost his life after finding himself in difficulties while swimming near the caves at Santa Marija in Comino. Police said they were informed of the incident at 3 pm this afternoon.

The man, from St Paul’s Bay, was administered First Aid by ERRC members and was later conveyed to Mġarr Port and then examined by a medical team at the Gozo General Hospital who certified the man had died.

Duty Magistrate Brigitte Sultana has ordered an Inquiry. Police are investigating.
