Man caught red-handed during alleged theft from a Cospicua residence

A 41-year-old man was caught red-handed today by Police after entering a house in Cospicua with the alleged intention of carrying out a theft.

At about 2 pm this afternoon Police received a report from a person saying they had seen a person enter a residence in Triq il-Mitħna through a window.

District Police went to and surrounded the house to prevent the alleged thief from escaping while Rapid Intervention Unit officials entered the house and found the alleged thief hiding in a small room containing unwanted odds and ends.

The man was arrested and a search established he was in possession of items allegedly stolen from the house.

Police investigations are ongoing.
