Rescued two days after being trapped in sunken launch

A man was rescued two days after the sinking of the launch MV Nyerere in Lake Victoria.

Some 170 persons lost their lives in the tragedy, but one man managed to remain alive after a pocket of air had been trapped in the launch.

The man is in a critical condition.

It is thought that the tragedy occurred when the mass of persons on the boat moved onto one side of the vessel.
