Residents at St Vincent De Paule home start receiving second dose of vaccine against Covid-19

The elderly residents at St Vincent De Paule have started receiving the second dose of the vaccine against Covid-19.

In a statement, the Ministry for the Elderly and Active Ageing said that the first woman who had received the first dose of the vaccine, today was given the second dose. She was the first elderly person in Malta to be inoculated.

“Now that all the residents have accepted to be vaccinated with the first dose, as from today, 879 residents will be given their second dose, while ensuring that all the staff are also vaccinated,” said Minister Michael Farrugia.

The Government said that by mid-February all the residents at this home will have been given the second dose of the vaccine and by the end of February all the residents at care homes, including privately-run care homes will also have been administered the second dose.
