The son of Police constable Ryan Tonna, who had died tragically in December during a marathon event in Italy, has been given personalised soft toys in memory of his father.
Tonna had posted on social media that he had started training in athletics in order to be an example to his son. He had died tragically whilst having lunch after having successfully completed a marathon in Pisa.
His six-year-old son and other members of his family met with Commissioner Angelo Gafa’, who presented soft toys to the boy with the word Tonna and his father’s service number – 773 – on their t-shirts.
The toys were made by the voluntary US group Blue Line Bears, which aims to help children of law enforcers who would have lost their parents.
