By tomorrow 80% of the adult population will have received at least a first anti-Covid vaccination

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health, Dr Chris Fearne, said that by tomorrow 80% of the country’s adult population will have received at least their first anti-Covid vaccine inoculation.

So far, 621,674 vaccines have been administered and of these, 350,092 are a first dose.

The number of those who have been totally vaccinated with two doses now stands at 282,709.

As at today there are now only 29 positive infected persons, the least number since last July.

Malta reached ‘herd immunity’ status on 24th May by which date 70% of the population had received vaccination.

As from 1st July, those that have been vaccinated will be able not to wear face masks in open public spaces.
